SNAP allows you to invigilate students remotely without being physically present where your students are taking the exam. Our invigilation solution is powered by Zoom Video Conferencing technology, enabling you to monitor and communicate with your students throughout their assessment in real time.
Preparation
Create your mock or summative exam in the same way you would create any standard exam on
SNAP. However, please ensure the exam is set to ‘Restricted’, so that it is only accessible on the
date it is scheduled to take place.
Our colleagues will need to enable the invigilation functionality for your exam.
Once you have finished setting it up, please notify us of the exam name and exam code by emailing
support@hecooperative.co.uk
We do not require the exam name or code at the time of booking.
As long as we receive them via email at least 48 hours in advance, that will be sufficient.
We advise that you do not share the exam code or notify students until the day of the exam.
Reminder: Please ensure Exam Hints are turned off in your exam settings for all summative
assessments. Once the support team enables exam invigilation, the exam will appear in the ‘Upcoming Invigilated
Exams’ widget on your SNAP dashboard.
Please note that the exam will only be visible to the account of the person who created it, so there is no need to worry if colleagues cannot see it on their dashboards.
Access the exam (on the day)
From your SNAP dashboard select ‘Assessments & Results’ then:
Select ‘Other Admins’ Papers’ from the ‘Exam Type’ dropdown.
Select the exam you will be invigilating from the ‘Exam Taken’ dropdown list.
Click Green 'Launch Invigilation Centre' button.
*If you created the exam, you can click the green "Launch Invigilation Centre" botton from the SNAP Dashboard.
Pro Tips to avoid delay on exam day:
• Encourage students to read the how-to guidance or watch the screencast
• Encourage students to take the demo exam
• Ensure students are aware that they cannot use Apple Safari or Firefox to take the invigilated exam.
• Encourage students and staff to test their internet connection speed
